V hloubce a po povrchu / In Depth and on the Surface

The publication accompanies the eponymous exhibition realised as a part of the project "Mobile Device Devoted to imaging and Analysis of the Layered Paintings and Polychromy of the Works of Old Art". It offers a view - both in depth and on the surface - of a slected group of approximately ten Gothic and Early Renaissance paintings and sculptures from the NGP’s collections. Using specific examples, it demonstrates how findings obtained using natural science methods may enrich our knowledge about artworks and standars collection practice. The authors contributing to the publication include experts from the fields of the art studies, chemistry, applied physics and restoration.
